Top 5 Massage Products a Massage Therapist Can’t Live Without

Working as a massage therapist requires me to use a variety of products including oils, lotions and linens.  Because I offer a service that is all about pampering the human body and mind, I am constantly looking for finer, more desirable massage products to delight the senses of my clients.  Although I love finding new brands and blends that really impress me,  it is important to me that they are also affordable.  I wanted to share some of my favorite massage products because I’ve found that I don’t have to spend a fortune to get first-class goods for my business. In no particular order:

Edens Garden Essential Oils

These oils are my new favorite item.  I use a lot of Aromatherapy in my practice and I go through a lot of oils.  I was shopping around online looking for good deals because oils are ridiculously expensive and I wanted to buy some in bulk.  I stumbled upon EDENS GARDEN Beginners Best of the Best Set and I was amazed by the price.  Only $40 for 14/10 ml assorted essential oils.  My first concern was that the oils were very low quality because they were so inexpensive.  I ordered them anyways because I had to try them for that price!

When I received the oils, I was beyond impressed with the quality and selection.  These oils are 100% pure and therefore very powerful; more potent and pure than any I have tried previously.  I have even compared the Lavender oil to that of the very expensive (and supposedly the best) DO TERRA Lavender oil, and Edens Garden was by far the best.  And the bottles even give instruction on what that particular oil mixes well with and what ailments they help alleviate.  I love all of the oils but highly recommend Cinnamon Clove, Sweet Orange,  Lemon Eucalyptus, Lavender and Lime for exceptional relaxation.

Scentsy Fragrances

Because I run my massage therapy business out of my home, I always want my house to smell great for my clients.  Scentsy candles are stronger than any candles I’ve ever tried and also more convenient because they have no wick.  Scentsy provides candle warmers that heat up the wax and there is absolutely no mess.  Also, the scents are very strong and will permeate the room within minutes.

You can buy small candle warmers that plug into an outlet or the bigger ones that you can place on a table, stand or counter that are also very decorative.  Once you purchase a few candle warmers all you need is the wax.  You can buy small bars for just $5 and they have an awesome selection.  These scents also come in room sprays.  Try these, they are some of my faves: Coconut Parfait, Black Raspberry Vanilla, White Tea & Cactus, French Lavender, and Sugar Cookie.

LaBelle Facial Kit

LaBelle has amazing products including cleansers, scrubs, moisturizers, eye creams and serums.  I absolutely love their mini cleansing kit.  I often like to do a brief 5-10 minute facial at the end of my sessions to fully help my clients relax.  This kit is perfect to end a session with because the fragrances are subtle and fresh.

The kit contains 3 items, a Cleansing Gel that includes cucumber and chamomile extract, followed by a Moisture Brightening Mask with Thyme that helps reverse sun damage.  And my favorite part of the kit is the Moisturizing Serum + C.  This Serum has a soft citrus smell that every client loves and sends them out the door glowing.

Special Offer from LaBelle: Anyone who brings a print out of this blog post will receive 10% off any services at any LaBelle Day Spas and Salons location Monday  through Friday.  Offer expires December 20, 2010.

Biotone Lotions

I have used BIOTONE as long as I have been a licensed massage therapist.  They have lotions to use specifically for deep tissue, sensitive-skin lotions, and my favorite – creme lotions.  I only use the Dual Purpose Creme lotion in my massages because it has the perfect texture.  It glides well but is also very good to use with deeper strokes.

It has a very rich texture and all my clients love it!  And I love that you can get a 68 oz bottle of it for just under $40.  It lasts forever.  These lotions are also enhanced with the good stuff like Arnica, Ivy, Grapeseed Extract – just to name a few.  Most therapists that I know and work with use BIOTONE because its simply the best.

The SpaLena Collection by Comphy

I have a few sets of SpaLena sheet sets and I love how soft they are.  They are extremely silky and my clients almost always comment on their softness.  They come in a few simple and beautiful shades.  You can buy them in Chocolate, Cream, White and Green Tea.

The Green Tea set is my favorite.  2 twin sheets and a massage face cover are usually about $33 but are featured at Costco so make sure to check there first.  When I have some extra money, I like to buy SpaLena linens and I hope to phase out all of my other  linens eventually.  This brand is a little bit pricey but it is absolutely worth it.

You’ll experience all of these products and a great massage when you book your next massage with me in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Call (801) 349-3934 to schedule your massage today.

Been using essential oils for myself and learning a great deal as I go along. Struggling with the differences in oil quality and was
interested in your thoughts on comparing with doTerra (as I’m told again and again, they are the BEST.)
