Reflexology – Working the Entire Body Through the Feet

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

Reflexology, otherwise known as Zone Therapy, is a non-invasive way to work every part of our bodies including our glands and internal organs.  It is one of my favorite types of therapies to perform because of its astonishing results.  Each part of our foot corresponds with a specific part of our bodies.  For example, the fleshy part of the bottom of our feet corresponds with our kidneys and stomach.  And the tips of your toes correspond with your head and sinuses.   So how does this modality work? Reflexology is the practice of applying pressure to specific areas or zones of the feet.  By using certain techniques with the thumbs and fingers, toxins can literally be flushed out of our bodily systems and organs through our feet.  We have several nerve endings on the bottoms of our feet and toxins will collect and build at those nerve endings.  Manual pressure helps to break up these toxins and push them into the bloodstream and out of your body through your pores.
